More about the European Musical Exchange Platform

As a European platform for information and exchanges on the topic of music, we provide up to date details on what’s happening in the music world in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, the Czech Republic and Germany. We help you find out all you need to know about the music culture in a particular country and offer opportunities for mutual exchanges.

The European Music Platform is a further development of the bilateral German-Polish Music Exchange. Since 2006, this forum has been supplying information in two languages on the music culture and developments in the 16 German states and the 16 Polish voivodeships. The success of this portal has encouraged the German Music Council to include more partner countries from the young EU member states in this system in addition to Poland. It is the aim of the Music Council to link up as many European regions as possible over the next few years and thus promote musical exchanges and cooperation in Europe.

As from January 2009, musicians from Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and the Czech Republic will be able to present their respective music and musical culture on the website along with Poland and Germany.

Are you planning a trip with your choir to Latvia or Lithuania? Thinking of starting an exchange project with an orchestra from the Czech Republic? You’re looking for Polish musicians for an international youth ensemble? Make use of the European Music Platform facilities. Here you will find ideas, events, institutions, contact partners and a lot more besides.

The platform is funded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media (BKM).
