Every year, on the 3rd weekend in June, choirs, orchestras, (music) schools, theatres, operas, cities, conservatories and many other institutions show the variety and quality of the musical life in Germany. The Day of Music is an initiative of the German Music Council, combining all musical activities throughout Germany.
The Day of Music´s aim is to underline the importance of music in Germany as cultural, social and sociopolitical factor as well as in matters of education policy.
Since 2010, the European Musical Exchange Platform has contributed to the Day of Music with a series of joint concerts.
